SERIMAYA's New Designer Colloboration

SERIMAYA AND INDONESIAN DESIGNER BILLY TJONG JOINED FORCES

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

We couldn’t agree more with this African proverb. In fashion, collaboration is not something unusual. In fact, teaming up with other talented figures in the industry can result in something amazing, even revolutionary at times. So when the opportunity presents itself to partner up with one of the top fashion designers in Indonesia, we grab it!

For the first time ever, SERIMAYA collaborates with award-winning designer Billy Tjong, who studied his craft in a fashion school in the States. Known for his signature bold prints and feminine style, the former photographer worked with SERIMAYA to create a 37-piece collection.

To celebrate the launch of Billy Tjong for SERIMAYA ready-to-wear collection, more than 250 guests, media as well as famous faces Julia Perez, Ussy Sulistyawati, Melissa Karim, Nindy, Andania Suri, and Cynthia Ramlanfans gathered at SKYE @ Menara BCA in Jakarta for a preview show and party.

Taking inspiration from paintings by American painter Jackson Pollock – who is known for his abstract art – the collection is all about attention-grabbing digital print. Dresses, maxi skirts and separates are printed with beautiful watercolour designs. Its the answer to the needs of locals from every corner of Indonesia who wish to achieve a high fashion look without making a dent in their wallet.

We’re loving the vibrant prints and think the collection makes great wearable art pieces that are suitable for everyday wear!
